What if the site itself needs replacing?
We still do rebuilds and content rewrites. They happen as scoped projects inside a retainer, quoted as a flat fee before anything starts, rather than as one off jobs for people we don’t otherwise work with.
Sometimes that’s clear from the start: you already know the site needs replacing, so we scope the build up front and the retainer runs alongside it. Sometimes it surfaces later, when a couple of months of data make it obvious that rewriting a section would do more than optimizing it ever will. Either way you get a fixed price and a start date, not an open meter.
What we don’t do is dribble a rebuild out across six months of retainer hours, so half the site looks new and half doesn’t. Nobody wants to live on that site.
