Introducing the New This Gals Design Studio: Same Expertise, Sharper Focus
After thirteen years of building and managing digital presences, This Gals Design Studio is refocusing around the work that actually produces lasting results: retainer-based digital management for a small roster of serious clients.
If you’ve been here before, you’ll notice things look different. The name is the same, the work is the same, and the results are the same, but the way This Gals Design Studio operates is changing in a meaningful way, and I wanted to explain why.
For the past thirteen years I’ve taken on everything from one-page brochure sites to full e-commerce builds, one-off logo projects, single blog posts, and three-hour WordPress emergencies at 11pm. I’ve loved most of it. But I’ve also watched a pattern repeat itself often enough that I can’t ignore it anymore.
The clients who see the biggest results aren’t the ones who do the most at once. They’re the ones who stay consistent.
The businesses that grew the most weren’t the ones with the biggest budgets or the most ambitious launch plans. They were the ones that kept showing up, month after month, refining their SEO, keeping their site healthy, learning from their data, and adjusting. Consistency compounded in a way that no single project ever could.
The new This Gals Design Studio is built around that reality.
What’s actually changing
The studio is moving to a retainer-only model. That means instead of taking on new projects from whoever reaches out, I’m working with a small, defined roster of clients on an ongoing monthly basis. Each client gets senior-level attention every month, not a junior account manager, not a project coordinator, not a shared inbox. Me, doing the work, every month.
I’m still the same person who built Major Tom Denver’s site from scratch and watched it go from branded-only searches to front-page rankings for “best restaurants in Denver” in three months. I’m still the person who took MK Bail Bonds from a handful of pages to page-one rankings across 24 Ohio counties. The difference is that work like that is now the only kind of work I do, and it’s done within ongoing retainer relationships, not one-time engagements.
Why retainers produce better results
This isn’t a sales argument. It’s a practical one. SEO doesn’t work in a single session. A site optimized once and left alone starts to drift within months. Google’s algorithm updates constantly. Competitors don’t stand still. Keywords shift. What worked in January needs revisiting by June.
The same is true for Google Ads. A campaign launched and left alone decays. Quality scores drop, bids become inefficient, ad copy gets stale. The businesses I’ve seen get the best return from paid media are the ones running campaigns that get reviewed, refined, and adjusted every single month.
WordPress maintenance is the simplest version of this argument. A site with outdated plugins is a security liability. A site with unmonitored performance is silently losing search rankings. These aren’t catastrophic failures that happen overnight. They’re slow, invisible degradations that compound over time until something breaks badly enough to notice. Monthly management prevents all of it.
What the new studio looks like
Four retainer plans, each built around a specific level of digital management need.
All plans are month-to-month with no setup fees and no long-term contracts. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel with 30 days notice. I take on a limited number of new clients each quarter, not as a sales tactic, but because the model only works if every client gets proper attention.
One-time projects are still available, selectively
Website builds, SEO audits, and brand projects are still on the table, but they’re no longer the main event. One-time projects are available for clients who want to work together before committing to a retainer, or who have a specific scoped need that doesn’t fit the monthly model. Many retainer clients start with an audit. It’s a useful way to understand exactly where things stand before deciding on an ongoing plan.
If you’ve worked with me before
Nothing changes for existing clients. You’re already in a working relationship and that continues as it always has. If you’re on a legacy arrangement that predates the new model and you’d like to move to a formal retainer plan, reach out and we’ll sort it out.
If you’re new here, welcome. The best place to start is either the services page if you want to understand what each plan covers, or a discovery call if you’d rather talk through what makes sense for your specific situation before deciding anything.
Either way, I’m glad you’re here.
